FIELD: physics; measurements.
SUBSTANCE: present invention pertains to measurement and controlling angular displacements of objects in monitoring and control systems. Magnetostriction motion sensor consists of linear acoustic wave guide, the ends of which are damped using current conducting dampers, an acoustical-electrical transducer, fitted in line with the waveguide, and displacement setting device in form of one coil of magnetic helical line on the surface of a cylinder, which is lies parallel the waveguide and capable of rotating about its axis.
EFFECT: wider range of measurement of angular displacement of a rotating object.
