FIELD: physics.
SUBSTANCE: magnetostrictive displacement sensor consists of a rectilinear acoustic waveguide 1 whose ends are damped with current-conducting dampers 2, 3 of an acoustoelectric transducer 4, which is placed coaxially in the waveguide 1, a displacement setting device which is made from the right 5 and left 6 half-turns of magnetic helical line lying on the surface of a cylinder 7 with like poles outside. The cylinder 7 is placed parallel to the waveguide 1 and can turn about its axis.
EFFECT: wider range of measuring angular displacements of a rotating object, high reliability and accuracy.
