FIELD: mining.
SUBSTANCE: guard panels out of elastic fine-meshed material are assembled along perimeter of waste pile; guard panels are secured on air balloons in upper part and are equipped with load in lower part; also guard panels are arranged in two mutual perpendicular directions: one - across direction of blowing of prevailing winds and two - along said direction; also guard panels from side of turbojet facilities placement arranged on same line are placed behind them at angle of 30° to line of their installation; further screen out of discharge gas is formed over surface of waste pile; for extinguishing fire turbojet facilities are used at amount sufficient for supply of discharge gas volume Q m3/h: Q=B*L*H/t, where B is length of burning waste pile, m; L is width of burning waste pile, m; H is height of burning waste pile, m; t is time of forming screen out of discharge gas, hour, t=1 hour.
EFFECT: extended scope of application of method due to efficient fire extinguishing of waste piles.
