FIELD: machine building.
SUBSTANCE: shaver for finishing treatment of worm gears, arranged in the form of worm and having cutting elements on lateral sides of turns. Cutting elements on lateral sides of worm turns are arranged in the form of wire poil that comprises multiple wires rigidly fixed with one end on lateral side of worm turn, at that diameter of worm shaver is equal to diameter of conjugated worm, and thickness of turns profile cog is increased by value of double tension.
EFFECT: higher quality of gear machining, simplification of design and reduction of labour-intensiveness.
