FIELD: process engineering.
SUBSTANCE: proposed method comprises burnishing of billet teeth. Engagement of two gears is reproduced at gear shaper. Note here that one gear represents tooth-and-needle shaver made up of elementary toothed disks with thickness making, at least, (d+b) mm where b is elementary disk thickness at location of teeth. One face of said teeth is furnished with wire frieze. The latter is made up of multiple d-dia wires arranged perpendicular on sides of said tooth-and-needle shaver. Thickness of teeth of the latter is increased by double interference. Note here that said tooth-and-needle shaver swings while billet reciprocates. Note also that second gear is made up of billet fed radially and swinging with due allowance for equality of radial speeds of tool and billet.
EFFECT: higher quality of finish machining of spur or skew gears.
