FIELD: mechanics.
SUBSTANCE: method involves transfer of rotary movement to processed workpiece, and forced rotary movement and longitudinal feed equal to pitch of processed worm per revolution to the tool made in the form of needle shaver. At that, needle shaver is made in the form of a plate with a circular coil on the edge; at that, on external side surface of coil there are cutting elements made of wire pile and consisting of many wires which are rigidly fixed in coil radial slots. At that, coil profile tooth thickness is chosen based on its free location in a cavity between teeth of processed worm. At that, mean diametre of circular coil is made so that it is equal to diametre of conjugated spiroid wheel comprising together with a processed spiroid worm a spiroid gear.
EFFECT: improving the processing quality, simplifying the design and reducing the tool manufacturing efforts.
