SEALING GATE FOR FLOATING ROOFS OF TANKS Russian patent published in 2009 - IPC B65D88/34 

FIELD: reservoir construction.

SUBSTANCE: proposed sealing gate includes a rubber-fabric shutter, scrubber device, compression springs with their one ends fixed to the floating roof, sliding sheets with their top profiled ends accommodating an upper seal pressed between L-shape profiled elements and their lower ends holding down, between the "П"-shape profiled elements, the lower scrubbers-seals locked by levers furnished with adjusting screws and rigid scrubbers pressed against the tank wall with the help of springs. Sliding sheets are suspended to the floating roof with a gap there between. Note that the said sliding sheets are pin-jointed to the protective metal sheets furnished with the rubber fabric shutter, the flowing roof being furnished with circular heaters.

EFFECT: increased gate gas tightness, reduced amount of dirt inside gate, higher fire safety, higher tank wall cleaning quality, reduced mounting time and better repairability.
