SUBSTANCE: in the method, on the slope water divide and slope parts, there introduced are at least four full-profile sections at the depth of up to the parent rock. There made are measurements of humic layer thickness of chernozem soils of the water divide, stratification depth of parent rock on the water divide and stratification depth of parent rock on the slope. In introduced sections there determined is reconstructed thickness of humic layer at each point, and according to them restored is the slope profile which existed prior to degradation. At that value of reconstructed humic layer thickness of the slope parts is determined by the following formula: , where: RT1(2,3) - reconstructed thickness of humic layer on: 1 - upper, 2 - middle, 3 - lower third part of the slope, cm; AT"в" - actual thickness of humic layer (A+AB) of water divide chernozem soils, cm; S"кв" - stratification depth of parent rock on the water divide, cm; S"к"1(2,3) - stratification depth of parent rock on: 1 - upper, 2 - middle, 3 - lower third part of the slope, cm.
EFFECT: providing the possibility of reconstructing the initial humic layer thickness of slope chernozem soils, which existed prior to their plowing.
