REPLACEABLE MOULDING INSERT BLOCK Russian patent published in 2009 - IPC B29C33/20 

FIELD: metallurgy industry.

SUBSTANCE: casting mould consists of a cavity plate and a pin plate, which are attached accordingly to mounting plates moved relative to each other between open and closed positions, and have opposite front surfaces which meet thus forming a mould cavity between each other. At least one of the surfaces of the casting mould plates has a front slot meant for the moulding insert to be installed. Insert is attached to the insert rod. Casting mould plate having the above front slot is provided with a channel passing from the front slot through that plate and through the mounting plate. Insert rod can be inserted in that channel up to the position at which the insert is in the front slot and is ready to be fixed, wherein the insert is just partially inserted in the front slot. Insert is preferably offset to that position with a spring. During operation with the insert rod there connected are fixers which are brought into operation from external side of the mounting plate for fixing the insert rod in the channel by means of a detachable connection, and for shifting the insert from the position of readiness to be fixed to the completely inserted position wherein the insert is located flush with the surface of the casting mould plate.

EFFECT: producing improved replaceable insert block for casting moulds intended for prompt and easy installation without removing casting mould plates.
