FIELD: technological processes.
SUBSTANCE: method for molding of items from orientable organic glass includes installation of plate stock in molding equipment installed in thermostat, heating of plate stock up to temperature that is less than glass transition temperature by 20-40°C, bending to single curvature, jamming of bent stock into contour frames, heating up to temperature that is higher than glass transition temperature by 20±5°C and giving specified compound curvature to stock by method of pneumatic molding. Prior to heating, stock is rigidly fixed in holding accessories on the opposite sides, and bending to single curvature is done under action of permanent bending moment at opposite sides of stock, which makes 80-90% of critical bending moment value. Device for molding of items from orientable organic glass comprises thermostat, support and hold-down frames installed in it with single curvature of molding surfaces made of transverse and longitudinal parts, mechanism for displacement of hold-down frame relative to support frame, system of compressed air supply and control system that determines completion of molding. Thermostat comprises drive with safety coupling, and device is additionally equipped with guide frame connected to hold-down frame by means of springs, stems and adjusting nuts with the possibility to move vertically via chain and screw gear, at that guide frame interacts with adjustable rollers of rotary levers installed in support frame. Longitudinal parts of hold-down frame are arranged as telescopic. Control system is arranged as source of radiation and its receiver connected to alarm unit that is connected to unit of thermostat heating control.
EFFECT: high optical and geometric parameters, lower prime cost of method compared to available ones due to considerable reduction of labour expenditures and energy intensity of orientable organic glass large-sized stocks molding process.
