FIELD: chemistry.
SUBSTANCE: method includes placing a polymer sheet between moulding elements, heating and moulding by applying bending forces on the heated sheet. The moulding elements used are silicate glass with a given surface curvature, placed equidistant from each other. Before heating, bending forces are generated on a polycarbonate sheet using a uniformly distributed mechanical load.
EFFECT: obtaining polycarbonate sheets with a precise complex surface curvature without considerable change in thickness across the area of the sheet.
