FIELD: oil and gas industry.
SUBSTANCE: invention refers to production of medium-temperature metallurgical gas carbon and to production of synthesis-gas thereafter applied in chemical industry or power engineering. Substance of invention consists that method for making gas carbon and synthesis gas converted in pit-type down-blow vertical vessel, involves upper firing of coal layer, heating, drying and carbonation of raw materials, lower discharge of gas coke product and upper selection of product gas not containing condensed pyrolysis products. The method specified provides coal of fraction 2-25 mm as coal layer, and oxygen of specific consumption within 50 to 150 m3/(m2·h) as down-blow component.
EFFECT: higher specific combustion heat of product gas more than in two times and higher volume fraction of CO and H2 more than in two times with increased specific gas product yield.
