FIELD: petroleum processing.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to fuel processing technology, in particular to production of metallurgical medium-temperature coke and associated gas via thermal-oxidative processing of coal in dense bed, and is designed to be employed in metallurgy. Thermal-oxidative processing is carried out at 750-900°C in shaft-type apparatus utilizing back hot wave effect. In this process, coal fraction 0-70 mm is used and specific air supply varies from 60 to 150 m3/(m2h) depending on the type of coal. Coke is cooled by means of forced gas circulation through circuit "apparatus-heat-exchanger" while usefully extracting heat energy.
EFFECT: increased strength and density of coke possessing low ash level and larger average size of piece, increased yield of coke and energetic efficiency.
