FIELD: technological processes.
SUBSTANCE: invention can be used in chemical and fuel industries. Carbonated coal and associated combustion gas are produced by treating coal in a dense bed. Thermal-oxidative processing of coal with a particle size of 5 to 100 mm is carried out in a dense bed at temperature of 650–1,000 °C in a vertical device of mining type. Ignition of a coal layer is carried out in the middle part of the load, the supply of air blast is carried out from below with a specific flow rate of 60–200 m3/(m2⋅hour) and in the middle part of the load with a specific flow rate from 30 to 100 m3/(m2⋅hour), depending on the coal rate. Cooling of the resulting carbonated coal is carried out by purging with cooled gases, forcibly circulating around the circuit "device – heat exchanger" with a useful selection of thermal energy in the form of hot water. Device for implementing the method is a mining type device, equipped with loading hatch 2, air supply devices in lower 3 and middle part 6, ignition device 5 in the middle part and devices for exhausting gas 7 and discharging carbonated coal 8. Processing of coal in the specified device is carried out cyclically.
EFFECT: proposed group of inventions allows to obtain carbonated coal with high strength and density, low ash content, with a higher specific yield of solid product and gas.
