FIELD: electric elements.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to devices for converting chemical energy into electrical energy, namely to lead acid batteries, and can be used in production of lead-acid batteries. Lead-acid battery comprises a parallelepiped-shaped housing and its cover made of electrically insulating plastic. Positive electrode is made in the form of a lead dioxide plate resting on the ledges in the opposite side walls of the housing. Current output of the positive electrode is made of lead, brought out through the cover and sealed with mastic. Negative electrode is made in the form of a lead bar with a closed cylindrical cavity inside and is installed on the ledges in the cover. External upper surface of the negative electrode is equipped with a lead current output. Thickness of the negative electrode is three times greater than the thickness of the positive electrode. Diameter of the cylindrical cavity is equal to the thickness of the positive electrode. One third of the cavity is filled with a liquid dielectric heat carrier with a boiling point of at least 50 °C. Lower ends of negative and positive electrodes are located at equal distance from bottom of housing. Separator in the form of a plate of an absorbent-glass matrix is fixed on the ledges of the side walls of the housing, is located between the negative and positive electrodes and protrudes beyond their lower and side edges. In the battery cover there is a hole with a screw plug, in which a ventilation channel is made. All free space inside the housing is filled with liquid electrolyte.
EFFECT: providing heat removal outside the battery housing to suppress thermal acceleration during its operation.
