FIELD: physics.
SUBSTANCE: invention refers to industry-oriented ultrasonic equipment mainly used for metal working. Rod resonator comprises auxiliary lining rigidly connected to backside of magnetostriction package and the body at the distance from package backside equal to odd number of longitudinal acoustic wave quarter in lining material at resonant frequency of rod resonator. Herewith specific acoustic impedance of lining material is less either, or more than those of package and body materials. With this provision, wave completely, with losses excepted, is reflected from junction of package backside and lining. Package backside axially vibrates as completely free. Its radial motion (bending vibrations) is eliminated by sliding fit of lining lateral surface in the body, thus enabling higher work surface pressing force up to 0.1 mN and ensuring deep penetration of acoustic beam into processed metal using nonlinear acoustics effects.
EFFECT: higher acoustic power of rod resonator axial vibrations and eliminated bending fatigue failure of concentrator thereof.
