FIELD: mechanics.

SUBSTANCE: set of inventions can be used in the precision processing centers and plate-measuring engines (PME). The PME incorporates a structural frame with antivibration base and driven con-rods to move the carriage in the plate measuring engine working zone, transducer housing measuring tips, measuring frame with six linear measuring instruments fitted thereon. In addition the engine comprises a programmable carriage control unit that allows a contact between the measuring tip and the workpiece to be measured. Note here that the measuring tip working zone is determined in calibration. The method of the measuring tip calibration consists in the measurement of coordinates of the reference ball points, the ball being rigidly fixed in the working zone of the engine in question. On touching the said reference ball, the tip initial sector selected points are used to define the round-off radius and rms departure from the selected sector sphericity are determined. Now, by varying the size and the tip working zone position, the rms departure is made complying with the preset value corresponding to the required accuracy of measurement. Further the measuring tip sector defined in calibration in used for measurement purposes.

EFFECT: increase of accuracy of positioning and expanded performances.
