FIELD: heating systems.
SUBSTANCE: invention refers to power engineering and can be used for utilising heat of exit flue gases. Regenerative rotary air heater with gas and air counterflow consists of a casing, gas and air supply and discharge ducts, a drum separated into sectors and brought into rotation in bearings by means of a drive, heating elements filling in the sector volume, and seals. Gas and air supply and discharge ducts are installed on the cylindrical surface of the casing; bulk material is used as heating elements in sectors; heating elements of sectors are divided into sections height-wise, which begin and end with boxes installed with their cambered surface downwards and arranged in pairs comprising a cavity. At that, in upper box in its central part and in lower box in its periphery part there made are holes; between gas and air supply and discharge ducts are arranged two ducts; to those ducts as well as to the cavity formed by bottom end surfaces of the drum and casing there fed are exit gases with pressure equal to air pressure. At the top and at the bottom of casing cylindrical surface and along the ducts' periphery there installed are seals meant for additional gas supply.
EFFECT: providing improved reliability and efficiency, including at low ambient air temperatures without preheating.
