SUBSTANCE: invention can be used in the diagnosis of engines at test benches, during their operation in vehicles as well as in fuel dispensing units of filling stations and in any other hydraulic systems in which means for controlling, measuring and recording flow rate and characteristics of operating or transporting fluid medium are used. A compensator is made as a tank with damping elements (convex insertions from elastic oil-and-petrol resistant material) that perform directly the compensating function, a fuel flow meter as a recording unit is set above the tank. The compensator is mounted into the engine fuel system next to the low-pressure fuel feed pump. Diameter of the compensator tank significantly exceeds the diameter of the fuel line pipes. A casing comprises an inner blank baffle plate that separates the above tank into two multipass balance chambers connected to each other only by the fuel meter. Inner volume of each balance chamber is diametrically divided into several pockets by discs each of them fitted with a hole.
EFFECT: increasing accuracy, prolonging operation life, simplifying design etc.
