FIELD: electrical engineering.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to gas-discharge lighting lamp firing system. The proposed devices for firing and control of the heater-cathode luminescent lamp comprises the following components, i.e. a semi-bridge pulse generator, a controlled-frequency driving oscillator, a resonance circuit, a pulse generator connected to the said resonance circuit. Note that the lamp cathodes are connected to the resonance circuit capacitor. The proposed devices comprise also a transformer with additional secondary windings and additional resonance circuits. Note that the transformer primary is connected to the pulse generator, while the transformer additional secondary windings are connected to the lamp cathodes via additional resonance circuits. The version of the device with a push-pull pulse generator and output transformer incorporates additional resonance circuits, while the transformer comprises additional secondary windings connected to the lamp cathodes via additional resonance circuits. The device calculation formulae are described.

EFFECT: proposed devices feature lamp cathode heating independent from main resonance circuit and lower resonance circuit current on firing lamp; note also reduced requirements to saturation of inductive components, decreased cathode current amplitude, longer life and increased number of switch-on cycles.
