METHOD FOR ASSESSMENT OF FOCAL TICK-BORNE ENCEPHALITIS PATIENT CONDITION SEVERITY Russian patent published in 2009 - IPC A61B5/00

Abstract RU 2347523 C2

FIELD: medicine; neurology.

SUBSTANCE: severity of focal tick-borne encephalitis (TE) patient condition is determined, including scoring of the following parameters: duration of incubation period, respiratory impairment, consciousness level, intensity of bulbar syndrome The following parameters are scored: type of patient specific prophylaxis, level of oxygen saturation in blood, data of neurological status: degree of meningeal and poliomyelitic syndromes intensity, frequency of epileptic seizures; parameters of somatic status: frequency of heart contractions, systolic and diastolic arterial pressure, body temperature; number of white cells and % of lymphocytes in blood, erythrocyte sedimentation rate; anamnestic data: patient age and time from disease beginning to appearance of focal neurological symptomatology Total score "B" is counted according to the following formula: where A is score of specific prophylaxis; B is score of oxygen saturation level in blood; Cn is score of n parameter of neurological status; Dn is score of n parameter of somatic status; En is score of n laboratory parameter; Fn is score of n parameter of anamnestic data, and is B<55, condition severity is assessed as light, if 55≤B≤110, then it is assessed as moderate, if B>110, then focal TE patient condition severity is assessed as high.

EFFECT: possibility to perform express-assessment with the possibility to monitor focal tick-borne encephalitis patient condition severity.
