FIELD: oil and gas industry.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to oil refining and particularly to an oil distillate cracking method that includes stock vapour heating where diesel oil fractions or vacuum gas oils are used as stock and stock vapours are heated electrochemically with the use of electric current at an overpressure of 0.01 to 0.5 MPa and a temperature of 300 to 450°C with Al, Cr, Ni, and Fe alloys used as isolated conductors installed in the vapour-phase cracking zone in contact with stock vapours, through which electric current is passed at 0.1 to 10 kV and 1-1·104 A.
EFFECT: increased yield of 160-360°C light diesel fractions as a result of converting heavy oil vapours with an end boiling point of 340°C into lighter diesel fractions thus obtaining diesel fractions only as the main commercial product, and improved usability of the method.
