FIELD: machine building.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to machine building and can be used, primarily, in machines and appliances with rotary parts. Method of operating the external-seal-pressurisation bearing assembly consists in providing surplus electromagnetic force increasing the bearing capacity of the proposed bearing assembly. Note that the said electromagnetic force is produced due to interaction of magnetic fields of the solenoid and magnet fitted in the said bearing assembly. The invention describes also the bearing assembly incorporating a shaft running in gasostatic bearing, a chamber arranged in the bearing housing and holes made in the bearing bushing. Note that the proposed assembly comprises additionally a solenoid fitted on the shaft and, at least, more that one magnet located between the bearing bushing holes.
EFFECT: perfected design allowing smaller gas layer thickness variation, increasing bearing capacity and reliability of bearing assembly.
