CENTRALISED VEHICLE STATUS AND LOCATION MONITORING METHOD Russian patent published in 2009 - IPC B60R25/00 G08B25/10 G08G1/13

Abstract RU 2348551 C1

FIELD: transport; information technologies.

SUBSTANCE: each vehicle receives global navigation satellite system signals to allow its current position, driving speed, and time to be calculated. The status of a vehicle is determined by detectors and if it has been stolen, warnings are generated and converted into data messages with confidential information fields. Messages are carried over to radio frequency carriers and transmitted through radio by using the vehicle's standard mobile cellular network terminal, e.g. GSM terminal, and/or the vehicle's retransmission channel transceiver. The control centre receives signals with messages, demodulates and decodes the signals, and processes them to find the position and plot the motion path of the stolen vehicle. Motion paths are then displayed along with text data against the appropriate sections of an electronic map. Commands coded so as e.g. to stop the stolen vehicle are generated and transmitted through a standard mobile cellular network and/or retransmission channel. The stolen vehicle receives and decodes the commands and manipulates the actuators accordingly. Also, retransmission channel transceivers installed in other vehicles and properties within the coverage of the vehicle's transceiver are additionally used to transmit signals with data messages and commands through the retransmission channel from the stolen vehicle to the control centre and back. The invention facilitates radio search, monitoring, and tracking of stolen vehicles.

EFFECT: data exchange between a stolen vehicle and the control centre without any base stations.
