FIELD: metallurgy.

SUBSTANCE: invention concerns production of aluminium by electrolysis of molten salts. Particularly it concerns structure of cathodic current-carrying rod. Cathodic current-carrying rod contains metallic rod with internal cavity and bush made of material with high specific conductance, fixed in internal plane with ability of electric contact with metal rod. Bush is implemented from metal with melting temperature lower than electrolysis operating temperature, not interacting with material of metallic rod and providing electric contact of bush with internal surface of metallic rod during metal melting. Bush can be implemented of magnesium or calcium. Bush can be implemented as variable in transversal section by its length by means of installation of metallic insertions in internal cavities of metallic rod. It is provided electrolyser consistency of operation by means of heterogeneity reduction of vertical stream by surface of cathodic section, increasing of cathode assembly durability of aluminic electrolyser at the expense of wear uniformity of carbon-bearing cathodic blocks.

EFFECT: providing of electrolyser consistency of operation at the expense of vertical stream by surface of cathodic section, increasing of cathode assembly durability of aluminic electrolyser at the expense of wear uniformity of carbon-bearing cathodic blocks.
