METHOD FOR NEUTRALISATION OF HIGHLY TOXIC MERCURY-CONTAINING PESTICIDES Russian patent published in 2009 - IPC B09B3/00 B03B9/06

Abstract RU 2349397 C1

FIELD: technological processes.

SUBSTANCE: invention is related to processing of highly toxic wastes that contain halogen derivatives of mercury-organic compounds, and is intended for neutralisation of pesticides of granosane type, which are not suitable for proper use. Method for neutralisation of pesticides that contain halogen derivatives of mercury-organic compounds includes preliminary treatment of pesticides by means of their mixing with water, treatment of obtained mixture by mercury reducing agent from halogen derivatives of mercury-organic compounds and mixture separation with extraction of metal mercury and residue. Mercury reducing agent from halogen derivatives of mercury-organic compounds is metal aluminium in the form of aluminium wastes in amount of 3 wt % from initial amount of pesticides. Water for preliminary treatment is taken in the following mass ratio to initial amount of pesticides - (7-10):1. Preliminary treatment with water is done in the presence of surface active substance, mixing is carried out at the temperature of 20-25°C with creation of pulp. Treatment of obtained pulp by aluminium wastes is done by passing it through absorber filled with aluminium wastes, with soaking for 1.5-2.0 hours and simultaneous mixing for cementation of reduced metal mercury on the surface of mentioned wastes. Pulp separation is done by gravitational method in hydrocyclone with accumulation for further use of extracted metal mercury in the form of sediment in its cone, and mercury-free residue in the form of solid and fluid phases - in its body.

EFFECT: higher efficiency of highly toxic mercury-containing pesticides neutralisation, possibility of complex processing of mercury-containing wastes: pesticides and luminescent lamps, and also lower expenses for neutralisation.
