FIELD: chemistry; construction.
SUBSTANCE: proposed method of producing bitumen involves oxidation of extra heavy straight-run tar with relative viscosity not less than 60 s at 80°C without its pre-dilution, obtaining target product in form of construction bitumen with melting point not below 90°C and its subsequent compounding with a diluent and a plasticiser. Road bitumen is then obtained. To increase frost resistance, as well as widen the base of non-normative raw material for production of high-quality road bitumen, the diluent used is asphalt from propanoic desalphating. Compounding is carried out with the following ratio of components, wt %: asphalt from propanoic desalphating - 25-40, plasticiser - 10-20, construction bitumen with melting point not below 90°C constitutes the rest. The preferred plasticiser is an extract from selective oil purification.
EFFECT: improvement of bitumen properties.
