SUBSTANCE: multilayer forming fabric meant for forming sanitary-domestic paper. Its upper forming surface contains a topographic difference, displayed in the form of a difference in the levels between, at least two weft threads of the upper layer. Difference in levels is defined as difference in height of two adjacent weft threads. Specified difference is obtained by placing on one and the same contour of the forming surface, at least two types of weft threads differing in diameter, size or form. In this case a depression is formed on the forming surface of the fabric.
EFFECT: depressions make it possible to obtain the required size, transverse tension, absorption capacity and softness of the formed sheet of sanitary-domestic paper, napkins or paper towels.
