FIELD: engines and pumps.
SUBSTANCE: proposed separator comprises drum containing base and cover, stack of tapered plates, plates holder comprising casing, bearing cone and cover and emulsion preliminary separation chambers formed by vertical partitions. Between the said partitions, there are light fraction intake zones with light fraction outlet ducts, the said light fraction being extracted in the aforesaid stack of plates and in the device preventing ingress of air into preliminary separation chambers and directed via the said ducts into the zone of discharging light fraction extracted in the preliminary separation chambers. The proposed separator comprises also light and heavy fractions pressure chambers with pressure plates and feed pipe. The plates holder bearing cone incorporates an extra protective cone deflecting emulsion flow. Note that the bottoms of ducts withdrawing light fraction from intake zones are streamline and rigidly flush-jointed with the said extra protective cone.
EFFECT: higher efficiency due to reduced emulsion turbulisation in preliminary separation chambers, ruling out inleakage of insufficiently separated emulsion with major inclusions in lower gaps between plates and uniform loading of plates stack.
