FIELD: chemistry.
SUBSTANCE: method of beryllium recovery from beryllium concentrates involves as follows. Concentrate is activated, sulphated with sulphuric acid. It is followed with water leaching of sulphated substance. Leaching pulp is sorted to beryllium sulphate solution and sediment. Beryllium hydroxide is precipitated from beryllium sulphate solution. Concentrate is activated by milling to size less than 45 microns and sulphated with sulphuric acid within 1.5÷2.0 h thus continuously mechanically removing reaction from concentrate particle surfaces. Beryllium concentrate is bertrandite phenacite fluorite concentrate.
EFFECT: milling costs saving and higher degree of concentrate defluorination with ensured high beryllium recovery ratio in water-soluble sulphate and hydroxide.
