FIELD: technological processes; metallurgy.
SUBSTANCE: invention is related to the field of iron-ore raw materials preparation in ferrous metallurgy, in particular to production of iron-ore pellets. Method for three-stage drying includes the first stage of drying with filtration of coolant with temperature of 250-400°C bottom-up and two stages of drying with filtration of coolant bottom-up. At the first stage of drying, drying time makes 30-40 % from the total time of drying at filtration rate of 1.3-1.5 m/sec, and at the second and third stages of drying at every stage - by 30-35 % from total time of drying at the rate of filtration of 0.8-1.0 m/sec. Coolant temperature at the second and third stages makes 250-400°C and 500-800°C accordingly.
EFFECT: intensification of pellets layer drying process in three stages with maximum possible coolant parameters, optimal distribution of drying time at every stage depending on initial humidity of pellets and height of layer.
