FIELD: electrics.
SUBSTANCE: invention concerns electric equipment. To achieve effect, method involves control of two values, dielectric resistance of stator winding against motor case and full winding resistance ratio for each couple of motor windings. Controlled values are defined indirectly from actual value of current leakage from windings to motor case and actual current or voltage values for motor stator windings. Control of the second value involves not assessment of actual full winding resistance value, but pairwise comparison of full resistance of stator windings to each other, i.e. winding asymmetry assessment.
EFFECT: improved reliability and motor protection quality due to timely diagnostics of stator windings and short circuit detection in windings, reduced resistance of winding insulation against induction motor case.
