FIELD: electrical engineering.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to electrical engineering, namely to methods for detecting inter-turn and other damages in the stator windings of an electric machine of an alternating current electric drive during its operation. Essence: the voltage of one phase of the stator winding of an electric machine under operating voltage is continuously measured and recorded. Additionally, the line voltage applied to the stator windings is measured and recorded, which is directly electrically connected to the phase of the measured phase voltage. From the measured voltages, the parameters of the amplitude and phase of the first harmonic are distinguished, by which the offset of the zero point of the phase voltages and the electrical load: the windings of the electric machine, is judged. By the magnitude of the offset of the zero point of phase voltages, the magnitude of the load asymmetry is judged by the phases of the electric machine, by which the inter-turn short circuit in the windings of the electric machine is identified.

EFFECT: simplification of the method and its schematic implementation.
