METHOD OF TREATING OVARY CANCER SPREAD Russian patent published in 2009 - IPC A61N5/01 

FIELD: medicine.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to field of medicine, namely oncology, and can be used in treatment of patients with malignant ovary tumors of III-IV stages. Method includes surgical intervention to available extent and radiation therapy in form of subtotal radiation of patient's body in low-dose or high-dose mode with total dose 1 or 9 Gy depending on per cent content of subpopulation of lymphocites CD2⁺35⁺ in total fraction of peripheral blood mononuclear cells with further chemical therapy in accordance with generally accepted scheme. With content of lymphocyte subpopulation 10% and more subtotal radiation is realised in dose 0.1 Gy to total dose 1Gy, in case their content is lower than 10% - in dose 3 Gy to total dose 9 Gy, subtotal radiation being performed on daily basis on linear electron accelerator by means of successive rotational and static radiation with anteroposterior fields, rotational radiation is carried out by placing patient directly under radiator isocentre with initial rotation angle a determined by formula: α=arcctq(2L/A), where A is patient's height, L - distance from isocentre to the middle of anteroposterior size of patient, and final rotation angle y, determined by formula: γ=arcctq[2L/(2L-2B)], where B is distance from upper head point to diaphragm cupula. Static radiation is carried out using wedge-shaped filter, directing its base to the middle of patient's body, angle of cantilever β from side of lower limbs of radiated patient is determined by formula: β=Argtq(A/4L), chemotherapy is carried out with medications of taxan group in combination with platinum medications.

EFFECT: method ensures obtaining stably high results of treatment with average remission duration 39 months and average life expectancy 53 months.
