FIELD: machine building.
SUBSTANCE: present invention relates to machine building, to aircraft jet engines and can be used for making inlet devices for jet engines. The technical outcome is achieved using method of making an air inlet of aircraft from layered polymer composite materials. On a standard air inlet and a plate, using contact moulding method, two half-moulds are made with working surfaces facing aerodynamic surfaces of the standard air inlet. Then, after polymerisation, removal and preparation of the mould, the air inlet is formed on its working surfaces. The plate is put into the plane of symmetry of the standard air inlet, and two half-moulds are made on its faces and on the aerodynamic surfaces of the standard air inlet. When preparing the moulds, the plate is sinking relative the working surfaces. The formed depression with adjacent sections is filled with the composition, forming the mould locking zone with surfaces, averaged on geometrical parameters adjacent to the given working surfaces of the left and right half-moulds.
EFFECT: increased technological effectiveness of the manufacturing process, and increased quality of the product, increased reliability of operation of the mould and air inlet due to improved quality of aerodynamic surfaces, as well as increased membrane hardness of the air channel.
