FIELD: engines and pumps.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to engine construction, namely, to swash plate engines. In compliance with this invention, the proposed engine, comprising swash plate mechanism, cylinders and pistons, incorporates a straight shaft with an oblique surface whereto the swash plate is attached. Note here that the swash plate plane, whereto con rods are attached, is located at the larger distance from the cylinders than the point of shaft axis bend. The engine exploits four methods of improving kinematics, i.e. lengthwise and crosswise shift of the swash plate, varying its diameter, varying its phase shift relative to the cylinder axis. For swash plate angular locking-up, a constant-velocity fixed or universal joint is used, while, for con rod attachment, a Hook's joint can be used. It is possible to automatically vary the compression ratio. The opposed engine pistons move phase-shifted relative to each other. Depending upon the shift direction, it is possible to produce a two-stroke cycle with self-supercharging.
EFFECT: higher engine efficiency.
