FIELD: information technologies.

SUBSTANCE: system and method for installation of data transfer parameters from mobile station to base station in system of wireless communication. One version of realisation develops the method, according to which network detects entry or exit of mobile station from mode of soft transfer, and in response it changes transfer parameter. Transfer parameter may include frame duration, at that, if mobile station enters mode of soft transfer, then frame duration is established with larger value, and if mobile station exits mode of soft transfer, then frame duration is established with lower value. Network may define whether mobile station should enter or exit from mode of soft transfer on the basis of pilot signal power measurement (PSMM), and may send messages on direction of soft transfer mode (HDM) to mobile station, therefore, making mobile station enter or exit soft transfer mode and, accordingly, establish transfer parameter.

EFFECT: improved system characteristics relative to all basic stations and appropriate sectors.
