FIELD: engines and pumps.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to axial-flow fan and can be used in vehicle engine cooling system. The proposed axial-flow fan comprises impeller (1) with hub (2) driven from the engine so that it revolves about its own central axis (3), and multiple blades (5) extending from aforesaid hub in directions transverse relative to axis of rotation (3) of hub (2). The said hub features a cup-like shape and is made up of circular aide wall (7) and lower wall (6) furnished with multiple ribs (20) arranged radially and extending upward towards the chamber of hub (2). Every rib (20) is end-to end jointed to the inner surface of ring-like side wall (7) to restrain, along with the latter, the angular section of lower wall (6) arranged aft of rib (20) with respect to sense of rotation (V) of hub (2). Every angular section has through hole (9) to discharge whatever impurities, say, water, soil or sludge from the chamber of hub (2) towards its outer surface. Through holes (9) are uniformly distributed along the circumference with its center located on the axis of rotation (3) of hub (2) and feature, in fact, triangular prismatic shape with wall (15) directed outward with respect to sense of rotation (V) of hub (2).
EFFECT: higher reliability, preventing formation of sludge, water and sand.
