FIELD: chemistry.
SUBSTANCE: method of preparing inorganic material for radiation protection includes loading of binding agent, filling agent and plastificator into mixer of forced action and mixing of components. As finding agent Portland cement is used, and as filling agent - fine-disperse magnetite concentrate (magnetite) with particle size 20-40 mcm, milled chrysotile asbestos, construction lime, lead shot, fine-disperse barium sulphate, activated with iron hydroxide with ratio Ba/Fe=4 and water. Mixture is mixed to homogeneous condition, put into forms for hardening and subjected to thermowet processing in curing pit during 7-8 hours. Further it is dried in drying chamber at temperature 110°C during 3-4 hours. To prepare material the following ratio of components, wt % is used: Portland cement 14-18; magnetite16-19; chrysotile asbestos 0.5-0.7; lime 0.4-0.6; plastificator 0.25-0.35; lead shot 47-51; barium sulphate (11-15), activated with iron hydroxide, and water 2.55-3.65.
EFFECT: increase of radiation protection against neutron and gamma-radiation.
