FIELD: production of shielding materials.
SUBSTANCE: proposed method for producing inorganic radiation-shielding materials includes charging of forced-action mixer with binder, filler, and plasticizer and stirring ingredients therein. Portland cement is used as binder and finely dispersed iron-containing magnetite concentrate of grain size 20 - 40 μm, crushed chrysolite asbestos, and building lime, as filler; iron pellets and water are introduced. Then mixture is stirred to homogeneous condition, placed in molds for hardening, and given wet thermal treatment in curing bag for 7 - 8 h. After that mixture is dried out in drying chamber at temperature of 100 - 110 °C for 3 - 5 h. Following proportion of ingredients is used to produce material, mass percent: Portland cement, 13 - 17; magnetite concentrate, 10 - 14; chrysolite asbestos, 0.55 - 0.75; lime, 0.5 - 0.7; plasticizer, 0.2 - 0.3; iron pellets, 65 - 77; water, 2.3 - 2.7.
EFFECT: enhanced reliability of radiation shielding.
