FIELD: physics; marking.
SUBSTANCE: present invention relates to methods and devices for determining banknote authenticity during high-speed sorting. The method involves successive exposure of a security mark with two radiation sources with different wavelengths, recording the intensity variation profile, waiting for deviation of the excited region of the security mark from the field of vision of photodetector, and repetition of the cycle, giving rise to spatial separation of excited regions that way. The device has emitters for exciting luminescence in the security mark, a photodetector for receiving radiation emitted by the excited security mark and an analysing device for recording information received by the photodetector and comparing it with given information.
EFFECT: more accurate determination of banknote authenticity during high-speed sorting.
