METHOD FOR TONUS EVALUATION OF VEGETATIVE NERVOUS SYSTEM IN DISABLED PATIENTS WITH LOWER EXTREMITIES CONDITIONS Russian patent published in 2009 - IPC A61B5/24

Abstract RU 2355297 C1

FIELD: medicine.

SUBSTANCE: orthostatic and clinostatic functional tests are conducted. Heart rate (HR) is measured three times successively with 10 second intervals from the start; mean HR during each interval is calculated and multiplied by 6. When conducting orthostatic test, normal tonus of vegetative nervous system (VNS) sympathetic part is stated, if HR increased from 12 to 18 beats per minute; less increase indicates lowered tonus; and greater increase indicates raised tonus. If difference between measured HR values in lying position is more than 2 beats, arrhythmia is stated; if HR of second and third measuring in sitting position is increased relative to first one, reflex showing time retardation is stated; decreasing of HR in sitting position compared to HR in lying position is considered as VNS paradoxical reaction to position changing. When conducting clinostatic test, normal tonus of VNS parasympathetic part is stated, if HR decreased from 4 to 12 beats per minute; less decrease indicates lowered tonus; and greater decrease indicates raised tonus of VNS parasympathetic part. If difference between measured HR values in sitting position is more than 2 beats per minute, arrhythmia is stated; if HR of second and third measuring in lying position is decreased relative to first one, reflex showing time retardation is stated; increasing of HR in lying position compared to HR in sitting position is considered as VNS paradoxical reaction to position changing.

EFFECT: method allows differentiated assessment of VNS tonus state in disabled patients with lower extremities conditions.
