FIELD: welding works.

SUBSTANCE: present invention pertains to an orbital welding device for mobile use for joining first and second ends of a pipe along an annular joint through formation of at least one welded seam, and can be used in constructing a main pipeline laid in the ground. The device comprises a guide rim and an annular joint, aligned to the first end of the pipe and an orbital trolley, fitted with possibility of movement, using an electric motor, along the guide rim through a handler. On the orbital trolley, a laser welding head is fitted for laser welding, which is carried out with possibility for direction on the annular joint. A laser beam is generated using a high power optical fibre laser on a mobile vehicle, and is directed along a waveguide to the orbital trolley and transmitted to the welding head.

EFFECT: advantage of the invention lies in that, a single welding cycle in a short period of time is sufficient for joining two ends of a pipe in field conditions in automatic mode.
