FIELD: laser welding.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to a method for preparing edges for orbital laser welding of fixed butt ring joints. The edges to be welded are cut. The height of the bluntness of the groove of the butt-welded edges is determined taking into account the maximum seam depth in laser welding in the deep penetration mode, which ensures high-quality formation of the back bead. The width of the groove of the edges to be welded from the side of the blunt edges is selected depending on the width of the front side of the root layer of the seam welded in the deep penetration mode and the scanning amplitude of the laser beam. The surface elevation angle from the blunt edge to the edge bevel surface is determined depending on the diameter of the welding wire and the width of the groove of the welded edges from the side of the blunt edges, and the bevel angle of the edges is determined depending on the thickness of the parts to be welded, the height of the blunt edges, the convergence angle of the focusing optical welding head and the amplitude of scanning the laser beam. The radius of mating of the groove surfaces from the blunt edge to the bevel surface of the edge, the maximum gap between the blunt edges in laser welding of a root weld in the deep penetration mode with an additive is selected from the condition that the maximum value of the gap is not exceeded, which ensures high-quality formation of the root weld and back bead.
EFFECT: technical result consists in providing free access of the laser beam, welding wire and shielding gases to the welding zone for the formation of a seam and improving the quality of welding.
