FIELD: pipe production.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to a method for orbital laser welding of oil steel pipes, a device and a laser system for its implementation. Pipes are welded directly on drilling platforms during vertical or inclined drilling of a well, including when repairing a pipe section without additional preparation of the pipe edge after cutting it with a roller pipe cutter. The pipe joint is welded automatically in one pass and the quality of the formed cooling seam is monitored with a flaw detector during welding. Additional heating of the joint edges is provided at low air temperatures. A 10 kW laser is used at a nominal power of 7 kW, the process from installation to removal of the device takes 150 s.
EFFECT: improving the quality and strength characteristics of the welded joint of steel pipes and the efficiency of the welding process, which does not require special preliminary preparation and equipping the walls of pipes with profiled elements.
