FIELD: engineering industry.
SUBSTANCE: invention refers to turbine building industry, and can be used when designing, modernising and repairing structure of turbine unit sealings. Honeycomb sealing made in the form of honeycomb structure wherein there used are honeycombs located on thin plates of small mass with optimum ratio of cell depth to its diametre hc/<dc0≈0.3÷0.5, which are placed into slots of a frame or diaphragm, and have the possibility of free radial movement when contacting the shaft surface; at that sealings are fixed in the slots with two damping cylindrical springs. Replacement method of worn-out sealings with crests on the shaft of turbine units consists in the fact that instead of crests there used are honeycomb sealings that are placed into slots of the frame or diaphragm, at that the required sealing clearance is provided owing to finishing grinding of the sealing under workshop conditions without turning the worn-out shaft surface as a result of erosive wear and tear directly on the drive unit.
EFFECT: decreasing working medium leakages, improving reliability of sealings on the shaft of turbine units, stabilising clearances during operation, and simplifying and cheapening of restoration processes of clearances during repair work.
