CONSTRAINED PATELLA AUTOPLASTY TECHNIQUE OF INTRAARTICULAR DEFECTS OF SHIN CONDYLES Russian patent published in 2009 - IPC A61B17/56 

FIELD: medicine.

SUBSTANCE: invention refers to medicine, namely to orthopaedics and traumatology and covers constrained patella autoplasty technique of intraarticular defects of shin condyles. Patella is cut off from a tendon of quadriceps muscle of thigh. Proper ligament of patella is dissected in saggital plane. One parts of proper ligament formed is cut off from joint capsule so that it forms pedicle of patella, and the other part of proper ligament formed is cut off from patella thus keeping its anatomic coupling with knee joint capsule. Cicatricial tissues are removed from defect zone of shin condyle. Anterior surface of patella is shaped as a defect bottom of shin condyle. Patella with its anterior surface is positioned on defect bottom of shin condyle with articulate surface upwards. Tendon of rectus muscle of thigh is dissected to form a flap with its base within excision of rectus muscle of thigh from patella. The formed flap is turned in distal direction and lined to half proper ligament of patella keeping the coupling with knee joint capsule.

EFFECT: method allows replacing large-scale defects, ensuring adequate blood supply of patella transplant, maximally keeping extensor mechanism of knee joint.
