FIELD: chemistry.
SUBSTANCE: proposed here is a mixer and method of controlling mixing in a mixing chamber, fitted with a pair of mixing rotors. The mixer has a motor which rotates at constant speed, and another which rotates at varying arbitrary speed. The speed differential between the constant speed motor and the varying speed motor is applied onto a pair of mixing rotors through a planetary type transmission. The planetary type transmission comprises a sun gear, planet gears, internal gears and a gear retainer.
EFFECT: proposed mixer and method of controlling mixing allow for maintaining high efficiency of driving the motor and flexible regulation of given speed of rotation of the pair of mixing rotors, which is varied depending on different versions of using the pair of mixing rotors.
