FIELD: technological processes.

SUBSTANCE: invention is related to processes of non-magnetic materials separation by density in ferrohydrostatic (FHS) separators or magnetic-gravitation (MG) separators and is intended for flushing and regeneration of magnetic fluid (MF) from surface of separated materials, mostly, on hydrocarbon or organosilicon basis with the purpose of their multiple use. Method for regeneration of magnetic fluid includes removal of magnetic fluid from the surface of separated material together with flushing fluid and further separation of magnetic fluid from prepared mixture. Flushing fluid used is low boiling individual hydrocarbon or hydrocarbon fraction that boils to 120°C, which are supplied to remove magnetic fluid from surface of separated material in steam phase. Individual hydrocarbon used is hydrocarbons C5-C8, and also fractions that contain them in any ratio, and light hydrocarbon fraction that boils to 120°C is, for instance light petroleum. Individual hydrocarbon or light hydrocarbon fraction remained on surface of separated materials, removed by centrifugation or in process of vacuumising. After flushing of magnetic fluid individual hydrocarbon or light hydrocarbon fraction that remained on surface of separated materials are removed by water vapor with further removal of hydrocarbon phase for its repeated use in flushing of magnetic fluid. Stabiliser is added to separated magnetic fluid in amount of 0.2-4.0% from content of disperse phase, such as oleic acid or fraction of synthetic or naphthenic acids.

EFFECT: increased efficiency of regeneration process, reduction of MF losses in regeneration, and also preparation of magnetic fluid suitable for repeated use in processes of non-magnetic materials separation by density.
