FIELD: medicine.

SUBSTANCE: invention refers to medicine, and can be applied to predict regressive myocardium hypertrophy following aortic valve replacement caused by nonrheumatic aortal stenosis. Substance of the method consists in preoperative quantitative analysis of human blood serum for tissue inhibitor of matrix metalloprotein kinase type I. If tissue inhibitor of matrix metalloprotein kinase type I exceeds 600 ng/ml, unfavourable prediction of postoperative regressive myocardium hypertrophy is given (change of aortic ventricle myocardium weight index is less than 50 g/m2). In case tissue inhibitor of matrix metalloprotein kinase type I is concentrated 600 ng/ml and more, considerably regressive myocardium hypertrophy is predicted (change of aortic ventricle myocardium weight index exceeds 50 g/m2).

EFFECT: application of the invention allows predicting preoperative efficiency of aortic valve replacement caused by aortal stenosis; method is specific, exact and available for screening of the patients suffering from nonrheumatic aortal stenosis.
